KINESIOLOGY

Kinesiology is a natural health care system which uses gentle muscle testing to evaluate many functions of the body in the structural, chemical, neurological, and biochemical realms.

Kinesiological muscle testing does not assess strength, but tests the integrity of the many factors which determine its response when called upon to contract.

Kinesiology testing does not diagnose disease. Muscle testing enables analysis which detects minor functional imbalances. Minor imbalances when not corrected, accumulate and cause compensations. Compensations compound each other, lead to functional changes, and give rise to symptoms of discomfort, pain or maybe allergic reactions. If these warnings are ignored, disease can follow.

Using massage, nutrition, and contact points, Kinesiology helps with: emotions and anxieties, specific personal dietary intake and supplements for nutritional deficiencies, structural imbalances and energy blocks. Kinesiology balances the whole person, which enhances health and well-being. Health wards off disease. According to AK theory, the body has its own 'knowledge' of imbalance which is reflected in muscle dysfunction. The body functions as a whole because of a network of energy 'circuits', which are similar to the meridians in all therapies and also incorporate the nervous, circulatory and lymphatic systems. Body imbalance interrupts the circuit to a corresponding muscle, which then tests 'weak'.

In an AK consultation, different large muscles are selected and pressed by the practitioner while the person being tested tries to maintain certain positions. If the muscle is 'weak' there'll be no resistance; if it's 'strong' it will be easy to keep in position.

Foods, chemicals, herbal and homeopathic remedies can also be tested by holding them against the body - or even just holding them in the mind - during testing. The substance or thought is believed to exert an influence on the body 'circuits', influencing muscle function.
